Leadville, Colorado is the highest incorporated city the USA and started as a gold mining town that was visited by the likes of "Doc" Holiday, Billy the Kid and the James brothers. Between the town proper and the mining town this one room school was built. The school incorporates the structural elements of many of the early day schools along with the "out" buildings. Whether nestled in the mountains of Colorado or the hills of New England working on this project will have you pondering days spent in these earlier times.
